  • From Saujon to La Tremblade: The "Train des Mouettes"

The ‘Train des Mouettes’ is a steam train running the 21 kilometres between La Tremblade and Saujon in Charente-Maritime; it serves the village of Mornac sur Seudre halfway along the route. It provides a great opportunity to discover the open air of the salt marshes, the Charentes countryside and villages of oyster farms, on board picturesque red carriages. The ‘Train des Mouettes’ offers an enjoyable moment and an original way to discover the Seudre Estuary, the smallest river of France, between land and sea; commentaries on board provide information about the region as well as the history of the steam locomotive and the train line.
