Welcome to a unique world of perfumes and colours! Discover more than 1,500 varieties of trees, shrubs, perennials, roses… a dream that has definitely become reality for Colette Deau! She invites you to stroll through the roses, the vegetable garden, the orchard, the undergrowth… and there is even a picnic area in the shade of the large oak trees.
The Parc Botanique also has theme gardens of the ‘Les jardins du Paradis’ (Paradise Gardens) association, the ‘Atlantic Cactus’ exotic garden, a nature discovery trail for children and degustation of the Domaine's produce.

Charentes Pineau and Deau Cognac are aged for many years in oak barrels, in the near-dark of the Domaine du Chaillaud storehouses. Many of these storehouses can be accessed during a free guided tour: the Cognac aging storehouses, the ancestral ‘Le Paradis’ storehouse, where very old bottles of Cognac and Pineau de Charentes are stored and where there is a presence of mildew: ‘angels’ share’. You can also watch an audiovisual projection to find out all about the production of Cognac, and get to know all the ins and outs of ‘The mystery of the perfumes of Cognac’. A museum is also part of the trail, to plunge into the world of years gone by thanks to the exhibition of old tools used by the vintners and farmers of Charente. The visit finishes with a Pineau and Cognac tasting session and a visit to the boutique.

During May, the Parc Botanique Deau celebrated its anniversary, with a wide range of events.
The new date for your diary is the month of August, for the Open Day of the ‘Comité du Pineau des Charentes’ (Pineau of Charentes Committee). It is the ideal opportunity to take part in the plants and garden Grande Fête, at the large regional craft market, with a garden scarecrow competition, tombola and games for children.
