Electric Cars

Electric cars are available for hire either ‘à la carte’ (Autoplus) or by subscription (Liselec), tramway, etc.: the Agglomération favours non-polluting transport.
Autoplus: offers electric cars leaving from the Place de Verdun, the same yellow as the bikes, for half-day or full-day hire.
Liselec: The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to travel around all of the 'agglomération rochelaise’ (La Rochelle Agglomeration) . Subscription costs 5.50 Euros or 2 Euros per month (according to the package chosen and reductions applicable), giving you a pass for access to one of 50 cars throughout 7 resorts: Port des Minimes, EIGSI, Médiathèque, Gare, Arsenal, Verdun and Aytré (Place des Charmilles). Cost is calculated according to time and mileage.
At the end of each month, the user receives a bill and a detailed statement of all routes taken.

Taxi Services

109 bus stops over the 18 communes of the Communauté d’Agglomération de La Rochelle provide the means for an extra service in addition to Autoplus Buses/Coaches: taxis at a ‘Public Service’ price. Routes are between the 3 call posts of the Town Centre (Gabut: post 5, Place de Verdun: post 22, Grosse Horloge: post 23) and the 109 bus stops throughout the Communauté d’Agglomération of La Rochelle or vice-versa. The price of the route is calculated according to the zone of the destination and/or departure. It remains the same whatever the number of people carried (from 1 to 4). The taxi picks you up and sets you down at one of the 3 central posts or one of the 109 ‘Taxi Autoplus’ bus stops.

Car Park Shuttles
The Jean Moulin Park ‘n’ Ride (opposite the Parc des expositions/Exhibition Centre) offers drivers the possibility to park just outside La Rochelle town centre. Only 500 metres from the town centre, this carpark is free and has a shuttle service (paying). But it is easy to get the town centre on foot! By avoiding the difficulties of traffic and the search for a hypothetical place to park, you contribute to a better environment in the town centre. From the Parc Relais (Park ‘n’ Ride), a number of public transport solutions are available to complete your journey.
Motorway Network
Two motorways pass through Charente-Maritime: the A10 and the A837. By the A10, there are exits at Saint-Jean d'Angély, Saintes, Pons, Mirambeau and Jonzac. The Mirambeau - Jonzac exit is 45 minutes from the international airport of Bordeaux-Mérignac. By the A837, Saintes is 45 minutes from La Rochelle. From North to South, parallel to the coast. These towns are only a few dozen kilometres from the motorway entries/exits nos. 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 and 38. From the A10 motorway, the French and European motorway networks make large European towns a reasonable time distance away from each other in the best conditions of security.
