The Stages of Cognac

Les Etapes du Cognac invites you on a discovery through the villages of Charente and Charente-Maritime of wine-making traditions, gastronomy and local heritage related to the Charentes ‘Cognac’ vineyards. The stages include visits to the storehouses and distilleries tasting sessions and sale at the vineyard. Accommodation is also available.

Itineraries

The 4 itineraries are identified by colour, each corresponding to a specific theme. Green (The Vine) takes you on the trail of the origins of Cognac. Purple (The River) tells of the link between the Charente and its meanders and Cognac. Golden yellow (Stone) evokes the lime soils and chalky hillsides on which the vine has developed. Finally, copper-red (Traditions) takes you on the search for the human contribution in the world of Cognac.
