The Poitevin Marsh
Among the sites that are not to be missed, the Poitevin Marsh is an interregional park of nearly 100,000 hectares, with the Sèvre Niortaise running through. A magical site if ever there is one, the Venise Verte (Green Venice) with its many canals in the middle of the marsh, is absolutely unforgettable.
POles Nature (Nature Centres)
To ensure the preservation of such sites, the département has developed a quality charter, which gives to each site selected the title of Pôle Nature . Actions are undertaken for their protection, with an educational dimension. Through these 14 Pôles Nature, the Charente-Maritime maintains its many natural assets. Sites that give you the opportunity to enjoy to the full the infinite charms of the rich and preserved countryside of the département.
