The IRQUA (Institut Régional de la Qualité Agroalimentaire; Regional Institute for Agri-food Quality) has the mission – among others – of setting up quality programs. Professionals, for their part, are interested in obtaining an official quality label to better promote their products. But these procedures are often long, and rarely smooth..

An "intermediary" label
It is for this reason that the IRQUA has set up the regional label ‘Signé Poitou-Charentes’ (Signed Poitou-Charentes), the first step towards an official quality label such as the AOC. This label is attributed according to precise criteria - specifications resembling those of an official procedure, but which is only a first stage. However, for a product to carry this label is already the sign of a certain quality, and above all a guarantee of its traceability.
