The warm climate, high sun exposure and the warmth of the limestone has given the forest of Benon a very diverse vegetation. Flora typical of the Mediterranean is very much present, as well as a few rare species, such as the blood geranium or orchid. The forest is also home to a very varied wildlife: wild boars, rabbits, squirrels, pine martens… as well as a large number of birds of prey such as tawny owls.
There is also a playground, and footpaths that go right round the forest, so you can appreciate all its charm and tranquillity. |
