Various outings and activities are organised for anglers and all those who are interested, whether new to fishing or an old hand, to discover the different sorts of freshwater angling on offer in Charente-Maritime.
Introductory outings
Introductory angling outings are organised at a number of sites across the departement. Various sorts of outings are on offer: three hour introductory sessions for beginners, line-fishing techniques, ‘worm-bait’ eel-fishing, shrimp-netting, surf-casting, or pond- and river-dipping. Specialised teams provide supervision and also supply the required material. Group outings are also available from April to October.

Vitrezay Nature Site
On the bank of the Gironde estuary, and at the heart of the marshes, the Vitrezay Nature Site is open from February to November, and every day from June to September. The site is dedicated to the discovery of the flora and fauna of the wetlands; traditional and competition angling are just two of the various water events and activities on offer.
