Ports and moorings in Charente Maritime: Port des minimes, Saint Palais, Ile d'Oléron...

Ports and moorings

In total, there are a little over 8,000 moorings in Charente-Maritime (quay berths, floating pontoons). These berths are spread over the 18 port areas of the departement.

The Port des Minimes

The Port des Minimes, with 3,660 berths or rings, - 3,300 for year-round mooring and 360 for visitors – is the largest marina in the departement. 39% of boats moored in marinas in the Poitou-Charentes region are in fact moored here. The Port des Minimes is easily the largest marina on the Atlantic coast and one of the largest in Europe.

A large number of moorings

There are also a large number of seasonal moorings outside the marinas, totalling nearly 5,000 berths. Of these, there are about 1,300 buoys in mooring areas outside marinas. Most of these are around the Ile d’Oléron and the Ile de Ré, La Tremblade Saint Palais and La Rochelle.
