Windsurfing is a favourite past time for all those who love boardsports. Those who enjoy racing choose long, big boards, whereas short, light boards are preferred by those who enjoy jumps and waves. But in both cases there is one vital thing – the wind.
A trailblazing sport
Windsurfing was a very popular sport in the 80s, and launched the boardsports movement. It dropped slightly out of fashion but is now making a comeback thanks to new equipment making it easily accessible.
Green and different
Windsurfing embodies the modern values of the boardsport tribe – it is environmentally clean and close to nature, just like surfing and kite-surfing… The approach is totally different to that of performance sports or team sports. It is estimated that there are over a million windsurfers in France.
