The Charente-Maritime coast is a favourite with jet ski fans. The diversity of the coastline, in particular with several islands, means that the département is one giant sports centre that is particularly appreciated by lovers of this motor sport. Every year, in the early Autumn, Oléron hosts one of the stages of the jet ski World Championships. Various organisations on the coast offer jet ski hire and lessons.
